We have recently, January 2022, made it possible for a person to be able to sign up for things like:
Newsletter/events/generic style notifications
eBilling/Benefit notifications
Directly within our new CitizenVu website platform.
We will walk through how this is done below.
Within CitizenVu, there is the ability to create 'Newsletter preferences' as shown below:
These link to the Broadcast Topics available. However, because Broadcast Topics are fed into OneVu, when you are setting these up you need to actually use the ID for the Broadcast Topic as held in OneVu, which is a relatively technical task.
First open OneVu Control and then open your Browser Inspector. Then choose the Network tab. Next click on the Broadcast option in the navigation bar.
Within the Network tab, you'll see a row called broadcast-topics, which is an API call. If you click on this and then click on the 'Preview' tab you'll see that for each of the items there is a uniqueId:
It is this that is required to create a new Newsletter preference as shown below:
Once this is created you can now add this to any 'Multi-part document page'. To do this go to a Multi-part Document page and, within the 'Body' section choose to add the following option:
This will then present you with the options available for that type of section:
You can select as many of the above as suits the nature of the page you're going to put them on to.
Plus, it is important to note that you need to also add a label or guidance to explain what each sign up relates to:
Because without this they'll only see the available contact options.
Once done this is how this will appear:
Note that the citizen will need to be 'signed in' for this functionality to work.
This functionality works similarly to the above only simpler.
First, you need to create a new 'Card Notification Preference' within this screen:
When you click New (top right), the only need you need to provide is the department id for the dynamic notifications you're interested in. If it was Council Tax, you'd go to OneVu Control for that department and in the URL you can see the department id = 2:
So if you want to enable people to opt in to any of the notification types set up for this department i.e. these shown at the bottom:
You need to create this with the 'Card Type Id' of 2:
Once done, go to the Multi-part Document page you want to add this to and it in the place desired:
Once done it will then present the following within the page:
Note that the citizen will need to have registered for the department it has been linked to in order for this to show.
