Enabling citizens to opt in / out

In line with GDPR and Local Government Finance Act legislation (for Council Tax), users are able to opt in / out of receiving notifications.

As a part of registering/authenticating with a service the citizen has the ability to opt in to receive notifications with a benefit example shown below:

The options available to the customer are based upon:

• You having set up the options for Email/SMS/WhatsApp/Facebook Messenger notifications for each of the notification types available

• The presence of an email address on the account

• The presence of a phone number for SMS on the account

• The connecting of the account to Facebook Messenger

• The connecting of the account to WhatsApp
