Generic notifications

Broadcast Generic notifications provides the ability for officers to encourage citizens to keep updated with local services, events, and with the community in general.

It is best understood as a omni-channel marketing and messaging service.

At the most simple level Broadcast is a tool that enables you to:

• create groups of messages (Topics) that citizens can opt in to receive

• create articles/messages that are connected to the topics

• send these articles/messages out to the citizens that have opted in via:

  • Email (including by GOV.UK Email if preferred)

  • Text Message via GOV.UK Notify

  • Facebook Messenger

  • WhatsApp

The set up of GOV.UK Notify, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp obviously needs to already be set up in OneVu and the customer needs to choose this as their preferred option.

Accessing Broadcast

To access Broadcast and start to create your own topics and messages you will need to access the link and login using the details that will have been provided to you by your IEG4 Project Manager.

Once logged in click on the 'Content' bar on the left and then expand the section called Broadcast as shown below:
