Benefit Check

If a person fails the DfE Free School Meal Check, a check is then done on whether they're entitled to Local Council Tax Support.

This checks for an active claim in your back office application. As it uses the 'National Benefit Schemas' all back office benefit applications are supported and the functionality works the same for Capita, Civica and Northgate.

If the outcome of both the DfE Free School Meal Eligibility Check and the Benefit Check results in there being no eligibility a message like so will be presented.

The message above is customisable in edit mode to be whatever you want.

Prerequisite

In order to carry out this check, the council needs to have access to the necessary benefit APIs:

• PersonSearch

• ClaimDetail

If a council has Benefit eChanges, they will generally be licensed for the above APIs.
