Clinical Waste Collection

Some citizens require additional, clinical waste collections, where they have long term illnesses etc. to ensure effective disposal of items like syringes for those with diabetes. Consequently, councils are required to provide this service and councils need to request it.

As the nature of when waste is collected can fluctuate, rather than being on a round, requests for clinical waste collection is done so adhoc when required. Moreover, the council needs to establish eligibility and where appropriate they will update the waste system with a marker to indicate the property is eligible for clinical waste collections.

Our integrated online form will, at the point the customer is making the request:

  1. Search for and retrieve an address in real time from the waste system

  2. Check if the clinical collection indicator exists against the property

  3. Check the cut off time because they might request a clinical collection 5 minutes after the cab has returned for the day

  4. Present messages:

    1. If they're too late

    2. If they're ineligible

  5. Create a service request to create the job if they're eligible and it's not too late for the next collection

  6. Create a service request to create the job for the following collection if they're eligible but it's too late for the next collection
